Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information VeinWatch ("we", "us", "our") collects from you when you visit our website, sign up for the waitlist, or use our price-monitoring service, and how we use, store, and share that information.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Account and contact details. When you sign up for the waitlist we collect your email address, your display name, and the commodity you told us you care about (commodity_focus: gold, silver, copper, aluminum, nickel, or zinc). After you activate an account we hold the same three values plus your subscription status.
Alert rules. When you configure a price alert we store the metal, the threshold direction (above / below), and the numerical threshold value against your user record, along with the timestamp of the most recent alert we sent you for that rule.
Price snapshots. Every time we fetch a price from our data provider we write a timestamp-price pair into our price_snapshots table for all six monitored metals. Snapshots drive the 24-hour percentage change on the dashboard and are not tied to your user record.
Usage analytics. We record landing-page visits, pricing-CTA clicks, and email-capture conversions in funnel_events, keyed by a random visitor identifier held in your browser's sessionStorage. We also count page views through the Polsia analytics pixel, which uses a visitor identifier held in localStorage.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
Operate the service. Run price checks on the schedule you opt into, evaluate your alert rules against incoming prices, and send the resulting emails.
Communicate with you. Send waitlist notifications when launch happens, send a one-off welcome email when you sign up, and send price-triggered alert emails based on the thresholds you set.
Improve the product. Aggregate funnel data to understand which sections of the landing page lead to signups, and to identify friction in the onboarding flow.
We do not sell your information, and we do not show you advertising.
3. Third-party processors
We share information only with the following sub-processors, each strictly for the role listed:
Polsia email proxy. Delivers transactional welcome emails on signup and registers your contact with our hosted platform.
metals-api.com. Source of live gold, silver, and LME base-metal prices (copper, aluminum, nickel, zinc). Free tier, 1-day delayed pricing.
api.metals.live. Free fallback source for gold and silver prices, used only when metals-api.com is unavailable.
Stripe. Processes subscription payments for our paid tiers. Stripe receives your card details directly in its checkout form; we store on our servers only the customer reference Stripe returns to us, never your card number.
No other third party receives your data.
4. Cookies and sessions
We use browser storage rather than third-party tracking cookies:
sessionStorage. Holds a random visitor identifier used for in-product funnel counting. Cleared when you close your browser tab.
localStorage. Holds the random visitor identifier supplied by the Polsia analytics pixel. Persists across sessions until you clear site data.
We do not set advertising cookies, third-party analytics cookies, or cross-site tracking cookies. Disabling either of the above in your browser will stop that specific counter but will not otherwise affect the service.
5. Your rights
You can request to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you. Email privacy@veinwatch.polsia.app with the address you signed up under and the action you would like us to take. We action verified deletion requests within 30 days.
You can also withdraw a specific alert rule, or close your account entirely, from the in-product dashboard at any time.
6. Data retention
Waitlist signups. Retained until the launch notification email has been delivered to you, after which the row is deleted.
Active accounts. Alert-rule rows, alert-history timestamps, and dashboard price_snapshots are retained for the lifetime of the account. Account closure triggers deletion within 30 days, except for records Stripe retains for accounting and tax purposes.
Analytics events. Retained for 90 days, after which they are aggregated into rollup counts and the row-level events are deleted.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy we will email active subscribers and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after a change becomes effective indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
8. Contact
